In the Regional 3 semifinals of the women’s NCAA Tournament, the No. 1 seed Texas Longhorns advanced to face the No. 2 seed TCU Horned Frogs with a 67-59 victory over the No. 5 seed Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday in Birmingham.
Advancing the Elite Eight for the fourth time in five seasons under head coach Vic Schaefer, the Horns are looking to make the Final Four for the first time in Schaefer’s tenure, the program ceiling to break through before Schaefer can have a chance to break through his own personal ceiling as a head coach after finishing as the runner up in 2017 and 2018 at Mississippi State.
