New Texas coach Tom Herman hires four of his UH assistants

New Longhorns football coach Tom Herman is bringing four assistant coaches with him from Houston.

Among them: Oscar Giles, a former Texas player and assistant coach under Mack Brown from 2005-13. Also headed to Austin are Corby Meekins, Derek Warehime and Jason Washington. Their titles and positions will be announced later, the school announced.

Herman has also hired Fernando Lovo as assistant athletic director for football operations, while Derek Chang will be the director of player personnel. Both were with him in Houston.

"I'm thrilled to have all of these guys on board and hitting the ground running during this really important time for us," Herman said in a statement.
