New OC Sterlin Gilbert cooking up faster Texas offense

AUSTIN, Texas -- The best barbecue is the country is produced in Austin, Texas. At the world-famous Franklin Barbecue, brisket is cooked low and slow in a smoker for 16 to 18 hours. Perfection requires only salt, pepper and time.

The best offense in the country is produced in Waco, Texas, though disciples of the Art Briles system have been on the move lately. One of his most successful protégés, Dino Babers, got the head-coaching job at Syracuse this offseason. At his introductory press conference, Babers shared some valuable advice Baylor coach Briles once offered.

“He taught a different style of football to me,” Babers said.
