Now, Kevin Durant has found himself in elite NBA Finals history.
Durant recorded 33 points and 5 blocked shots, plus a ton of other stats in Sunday’s Game 2 win for the Golden State Warriors. And, that performance put him in elite company.
According to ESPN Stats & Info via Elias Sports Bureau, Durant was only the fourth player in NBA Finals history to record 30+ points and block five shots in the same game.
The other three players:
- Houston Rockets legendary center Hakeem Olajuwon (twice)
- San Antonio Spurs legendary center Tim Duncan (once)
- Los Angeles Lakers legendary center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (twice)
Interestingly, former Lakers star center Shaquille O’Neal is not on the list of 30+ points and five blocks in one game.
