Texas football coach Tom Herman strongly denied providing the information that led to the dismissal of Ohio State assistant Zach Smith and an investigation into the Buckeye program.
His wife, Michele, took to Twitter to proclaim her innocence as well, albeit with a different less serious tone.
Brett McMurphy, the veteran reporter who broke the story that rocked the college football world, said it wasn't Herman either.
Yet somehow the focus in a conspiracy-theory filled Saturday shifted to Herman, the former Ohio State offensive coordinator and second-year Texas coach, and away from the allegations of domestic abuse by Courtney Smith, the former wife of Zach Smith.
