WACO, Texas – Eric Metcalf, a legendary football and track & field star at The University of Texas, was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017 on Tuesday evening. Metcalf was joined by seven other distinguished Texans at the induction ceremony.
Metcalf competed in both football and track at UT. He was a three-time All-Southwest Conference performer on the gridiron and was named SWC Player of the Year in 1987. He rushed for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns in the '87 campaign to also earn second team All-America honors.
