MINNEAPOLIS – Texas broke its own American record in the 800-yard freestyle relay to highlight night one of the 2023 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatics Center. The relay team of Luke Hobson, Coby Carrozza, Peter Larson and Carson Foster combined for an 800 free relay time of 6:03.42 to give the Longhorns new American, NCAA, meet, pool and program records in the event for the second consecutive NCAA Championships.
The Longhorns registered 50 points during the first finals session of the meet and are in sixth place.
