FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas men's golf team fired an opening 561 (277/284) on Monday to sit in second place after the opening day of the Colonial Collegiate Classic, a Big 12-only event being held at the Colonial Country Club this week. The Longhorns, sitting at 1-over as a team, are four shots back of leaders Oklahoma (3-under) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Travis Vick is tied for the individual lead after shooting a 1-under 139. Vick posted a 2-under 68 in his first round of the day, birdieing four of his first 11 holes before dropping two shots as he worked his way back to the clubhouse.
