ST. LOUIS, Mo. — University of Texas freshman Mohamed Bamba is one of 32 watch list members for the 2018 Oscar Robertson Trophy, the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) announced today. The annual honor recognizes college basketball's national player of the year.
Members of the USBWA's board of directors chose the players to be included on the list. The award will be presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio.
Bamba was previously named the Big 12 Conference Preseason Freshman of the Year by the league's coaches and was one of 20 selections to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award preseason watch list.
