AUSTIN, Texas — Chris Johnson has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball next season at The University of Texas, head coach Rodney Terry announced Monday. Johnson will join the Longhorns for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Johnson (6-5, 180), a guard from Missouri City, Texas, played his senior year at Montverde Academy (Fla.) under coach Kevin Boyle. He was ranked No. 44 nationally by ESPN in the final Class of 2023 rankings. Johnson averaged a team-best 3.6 assists per contest while helping Montverde post a 23-3 overall record and advance to the quarterfinals at the GEICO High School Basketball Nationals during the 2022-23 season.
