AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore guard/forward Tevin Mack had 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting and seven rebounds for the Longhorns, but it was not enough as UT Arlington held off Texas, 72-61, at the Frank Erwin Center on Tuesday night. Freshman forward Jarrett Allen recorded his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. Kerwin Roach Jr. rounded out the three Longhorns scoring in double-digits with 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting.
Kevin Hervey led the way for UTA (5-3) with a double-double of his own, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 boards.
