Frank Denius, a prominent Texas Longhorns booster and alum, died on Sunday. He was 93.
Denius was a World War II veteran and received four Silver Stars and two Purple Hearts for his service and as a member of the D-Day invasion on Normandy.
Denius was a constant fixture and Longhorns practices and games. The team's practice fields are named after him.
"Frank Denius was the ultimate Longhorn," UT president Greg Fenves said in a statement. "He came to The University of Texas in 1945 after returning from World War II as a highlight decorated hero -- and never stopped giving his time, passion and resources to his alma mater.
