Texas won't be adding another face to its quarterback competition.
Former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris, who was being pursued by the Longhorns, announced Sunday that he had chosen North Carolina. As a graduate transfer, Harris will be eligible for next season.
Ranked as the third-best dual quarterback in the country by the 247Sports composite coming out of Bossier City, La., Harris never reached his potential as LSU. He did start 12 games in 2015 as a sophomore, throwing for 2,165 yards and 13 touchdowns for a 9-3 team. Harris started two games last season.
His decision leaves sophomore Shane Buechele, who started all 12 games last season as a true freshman, and early entry freshman Sam Ehlinger in the Texas quarterback mix for as coach Tom Herman heads into his first season.
