Texas took a significant step toward building a new basketball arena on Friday, announcing its intent to hire a development firm for the new on-campus facility.
The Longhorns have narrowed their search for a new arena down to two locations. The first option is the parking area south of Mike A. Myers Stadium, while the other possibility is the area south of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, currently home to the Recreational Sports Center and Steve Hicks School of Social Work.
