AUSTIN, Texas – Texas track and field opened its outdoor season hosting the Longhorn Invitational at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Saturday.
Kiana Lowery began the day with a personal-best throw in the women's hammer throw at 49.70m (163-1).
Freshman mid-year transfer Jack Carey made his Longhorns debut in the javelin with a winning throw of 58.40m (191-7). Senior Rhiley Fritz took the women's javelin event with a winning mark of 46.83m (153-7).
Five Longhorns on the men's side made a mark in the men's pole vault with freshman Connor Boenig recording a personal-best winning bar of 5.
