The Longhorns bounced out of the Big 12 tournament on Thursday night with a 65-57 loss to No. 17 Kansas in the quarterfinals. Texas dropped to 16-16 overall and has now lost six of its last eight games.
Here are three takeaways from Thursday's game in Kansas City:
1. Woeful shooting dooms Longhorns
After heading into the locker room at the half tied at 29 a piece, both teams looked to be on a collision course for a second half that would come right down to the wire -- and so it did.
Even despite Kansas opening up a nine-point lead multiple times early in first half, no game-breaking run ever came and the Longhorns stayed right in it.
