AUSTIN — It turns out winning more games than anyone in the history of his sport is good enough to get a coach honored.
Texas’ Augie Garrido, the coach of five national championship teams and 1,961 victories, will be inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, the hall announced Thursday.
The hall enshrined its inaugural class in 2006, and has spent its first decade mainly honoring players and coaches who have long since retired.
