Chris Warren powered ahead for a 2-yard touchdown run as Texas overcame Kansas State 40-34 in double overtime Saturday night in Austin.
The Longhorns (3-2, 2-0 Big 12) had a chance to win it in regulation but kicker Josh Rowland missed a 45-yard field goal attempt with 2 seconds remaining as it remain tied 27-27 heading to overtime.
Texas freshman quarterback Sam Ehlinger connected with Jerrod Heard on a 25-yard scoring pass on the first play of overtime as the ’Horns went up 34-27.
Kansas State (3-2, 1-1) tied it after backup quarterback Alex Delton scrambled for an 8-yard TD run in the first overtime.
