The world is engulfed in the news of Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s retirement announcement yesterday. Now, attention has turned to who will replace the greatest college football coach of all time at one of the winningest football programs nationally.
Will it be Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian? (God, we hope not.)
National analysts like CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodds recently commented on Sarkisian’s potential to replace college football’s godfather. “I think we have [Sarkisian’s] name on there because he’s probably the best result, the best graduate of Nick Saban’s halfway house. He’s taken in these broken coaches who’ve had something go wrong in their career — fired, personal problems, whatever — and they come out better for it.
