It feels weird to accept, but somehow, the Texas Longhorns have never faced the Clemson Tigers. That’s despite both programs beginning play in 1893 and 1896, respectively.
College football be weird like that. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian seemingly agrees.
“The fact that we’ve never played them, that Texas has never played Clemson in football, and the first time will be in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff right here at DKR I think is very exciting,” Sarkisian said, according to Inside Texas.
Exciting, indeed.
