For the first time since the 2008 and 2009 seasons, the Texas Longhorns have earned back-to-back 5-0 records. Last year, Texas finished the season 12-2, which included a Big 12 Conference Championship and a semifinals appearance in the College Football Playoff.
Beyond the aforementioned two occasions, the only other time Texas has boasted consecutive 5-0 records was in the 1969 and 1970 seasons.
That puts head coach Steve Sarkisian in admirable company.
