While speaking on the ESPN program Get Up this morning, reporter and host Heather Dinich seemingly spilt the beans on what the College Football Playoff is cooking up once the current format expires after the 2025 season. (Granted, spilling the beans is her job.)
Essentially, the CFP is seriously veering in the direction of expanding to 14 teams and changing its seeding format; currently, the top-four highest-ranked conference champions receive 1 through 4 seedings and a bye during the CFP’s opening round each December.
“We’re headed to major change, inevitably, at some point,” Dinich said, according to On3.
