AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Golf alum Jordan Spieth (2012) won his third major championship and 11th PGA event of his career after capturing The Open Championship on Sunday at Royal Birkdale.
Spieth won the Masters championship and the U.S. Open Championship in 2015 and has an opportunity now to become the youngest player in history to win a Grand Slam at next month's PGA Championship.
Only five players in history--Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Gary Player, and Gene Sarazen have won Grand Slams.
