The Texas Longhorns faced the Baylor Bears in the second round of the Big 12 Baseball Tournament on Thursday afternoon. After allowing the Bears to tie-up the game in the top of the 9th inning with a three-run home run, Tres Barrera, with bases loaded and two outs, hit a walk-off single to clinch the game.
Barrera came to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs after an intentional walk to left fielder Ben Johnson and a flyout by designed hitter Joe Baker. Baylor took out starter Drew Tolson after 8 2/3 innings pitched and the move paid off for one pitch, as Barrera took a grand-slam swing well ahead of a breaking ball.
