Rookie Malcolm Brown was brought in to replace an aging Vince Wilfork. He won’t be expected to carry the load Wilfork did, especially with the help he has along the front seven.
The Patriots defensive overhaul has been well covered. In addition to the loss of CBs Revis and Browner, the Patriots also parted ways with their All-Pro defensive line clog in Vince Wilfork, who signed with the Houston Texans this offseason after his release from New England. Slot corner Kyle Arrington was also released and subsequently signed with the Ravens.
Patriots fans should know, too, that second year player Dominique Easley will be returning from surgery and should add some pass rush help with supporting help from rookie Malcom Brown.
