Last week, a total of 18 Texas Longhorn commits celebrated Thanksgiving knowing that they still had at least one game left to play in the 2022 high school football season. One week later, that number is down to 11. Two out-of-state commits concluded their high school careers last weekend with state championship wins, three other out-of-state pledges lost in their team’s playoff games, one player saw his season end in the third round of the Texas playoffs, and one other in-state product (Daingerfield’s Aeryn Hampton) who was also on the losing end of a third round game de-committed from Texas a few days later, and thus he will not be mentioned in the rest of this post.
