OMAHA, Neb.—Sophomore lefthander Nick Kennedy has been named a semifinalist for the 2017 Gregg Olson Award, which honors college baseball's breakout player of the year. The award, presented by Toolshed Sports, is given to a top amateur baseball player who elevates his game to an elite level throughout the season.
So far this season, Kennedy has compiled an 8-1 record with a 2.82 ERA in 18 games (eight starts) for the Longhorns.
