Kavan tosses seventh career complete game shutout as No. 1/2 Softball earns 21st win

AUSTIN, Texas – As Teagan Kavan toed the pitching rubber at 6:02 p.m. to begin Texas' eventual 4-0 win over Baylor, all those in attendance throughout Red & Charline McCombs Field were living in Central Time. But by 6:03 p.m., all clocks had been flipped to T-Time.

And after just five pitches, Kavan recorded what turned out to be the first of her 11 strikeouts, marking the third career time the Texas sophomore right-handed pitcher fanned 10-or-more opposing batters in a single game and first time since setting a career high with 18 in nine innings of work against Texas Tech on Feb.
