Junior CB Anthony Cook says he won’t play another snap at Texas

In rather surprising news, junior Texas cornerback Anthony Cook announced this evening that he will not play another snap at the University of Texas. Cook made the announcement on his Twitter page.

“Due to unfortunate situations I will not be playing another snap for the University of Texas. (This) Has nothing to do with anyone or anything. Please respect my decision,” Cook said.

Entering his junior season, Cook was set to compete for starting reps at the No. 2 cornerback position opposite of Jalen Green.

Despite starting last season as a backup to D’Shawn Jamison, Cook saw an uptick in playing time when Green was injured.
