BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas freshman guard Tre Johnson earned three mentions on the 2024-25 Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Awards teams, the league office announced Monday afternoon. The official All-SEC awards are selected by the league's head coaches, and the coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Johnson was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned spots on the five-person All-SEC Second Team and the five-person SEC All-Freshman Team.
Johnson is the first player in program history to earn SEC Freshman of the Year mention and the 10th individual in school history to claim conference Freshman of the Year accolades.
