After rumors and late-night fireworks, on Wednesday morning the Texas Longhorns introduced the sixth head coach in more than 100 years of the baseball program, former Texas A&M Aggies head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
His hiring comes amidst a bit of a one-sided controversy, with the announcement coming hours after the Aggies lost in the national championship series — adding insult to injury for the folks in College Station. Schlossnagle aggressively responded to Texas A&M media asking about the rumors but did not offer a concrete denial. He attempted to make amends with A&M fans during his introductory press conference, hoping that everyone could move on.
