FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Jeremiah Nubbe and Patrick Piperi of the No. 7 men's track and field team earned spots at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday night at the John McDonnell Field on the first day of the NCAA West Prelims.
At regionals, the top-12 finishers qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. Piperi was the first Longhorn to punch his ticket to the championships after he finished 10th in shot put with a heave of 18.74m (61-5.75) on his second throw. This marks the second-straight season Piperi has advanced to the championship.
