Texas joins Alabama, Clemson and Missouri as the only teams with two players named to the 29-man squad
Texas Longhorns LB Malik Jefferson and OT Connor Williams were named to the Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team on Monday. The Longhorns joined Alabama, Clemson and Missouri as the only teams with two players named to the 29-man squad.
Jefferson and Williams become the 10th and 11th Longhorns chosen in the 15 seasons the team has been selected. Past Longhorns include CB Quandre Diggs (2011), S Earl Thomas (2008), QB Colt McCoy (2006), DE Brian Orakpo (2005), DT Frank Okam (2004), OT Justin Blalock (2003), DT Rodrique Wright (2002), LB Derrick Johnson (2001) and K Dusty Mangum (2001).
