NEW ORLEANS -- Jerrod Heard stood on the Texas sideline inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and gazed toward a sea of burnt orange-clad fans.
The senior wide receiver stationed himself perfectly still, his face exuberant with his trademark smile. He watched closely as his teammates celebrated just a few yards in front of him with all the Longhorn fans who had traveled to watch No. 15 Texas' 28-21 victory over fifth-ranked Georgia in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Tuesday night.
And in that moment, when asked what a victory like this could possibly mean to him to cap off his career, Heard uttered one simple, yet telling sentence.
