A member of the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor, a standout wide receiver for the Longhorns and an acclaimed painter, Gennusa was 76.
Ragan Gennusa, a member of the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor and the football team's leading receiver in 1966 and '67 who went on to become one of America's foremost painters of wildlife and western art, passed away on Friday.
It was his hands and his speed that earned Ragan Gennusa a football scholarship to Texas. And it would be those same hands that would dictate a career path, but in an entirely different way than some might have imagined.
