AUSTIN -- Texas coach Tom Herman admitted Monday that his decision to bench starting senior cornerbacks Kris Boyd and Davante Davis for the first quarter against Oklahoma State did play a negative factor in the Longhorns' 38-35 loss on Saturday night in Stillwater.
Herman made the decision to suspend Boyd and Davis after the two were late for a team function last week. Redshirt freshman Kobe Boyce and freshman Anthony Cook started in their place.
"I would be foolish to say it wasn't a factor. It certainly was. I don't know how much," Herman said Monday morning during his Big 12 teleconference media call.
