Heading into Saturday’s game, their sole focus is the matchup against the Rice Owls in their final non-conference game. The Longhorns have a lot of opportunities to improve as they take on a team that they have beaten 13 consecutive times dating back to 1994.
Defensively, the Longhorns need to shore up the back end and determine who can hold down the side of the field opposite of sophomore Jalen Green. Injuries to other defenders could cause issues for the Longhorns, but they can lean on a solid unit up front to hopefully stop the Owls’ game plan.
