After capturing their first-ever Big 12 Tournament title on Saturday evening, the No. 13 Texas Longhorns officially earned an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Tournament, though Shaka Smart’s team was well on their way to likely earning a 3, if not 4-seed even without the conference championship.
Instead, the Longhorns officially guaranteed their place in the Big Dance, marking the third time Texas has earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament under Smart and the first time since 2018. Now, all the remains to be seen is which seed the Horns will earn and in which region they’ll be placed.
