AUSTIN - Two years ago, Charles Omenihu personified Texas’ anger and frustration after an unfathomable loss at Kansas.
He sat on the field at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and slammed his helmet into the turf after a 24-21 overtime loss, then stormed around the Texas sideline, raging and yelling. Even with one game remaining, the loss marked the unofficial end of Charlie Strong’s three years at Texas. A week later, Tom Herman was named Texas’ new coach.
Fast forward and Omenihu was being quizzed Tuesday about what he remembered about that game and his emotions. He pleaded amnesia.
