MINNEAPOLIS – Men's Swimming and Diving's Luke Hobson won the 500-yard freestyle national title in record-breaking fashion on Thursday at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatics Center. Hobson establish program and pool records of 4:07.37 to claim the victory, the first for a Longhorn in the event since Townley Haas won in 2019. It's the second national title of the meet for Hobson after he helped the Longhorns to an American record and national crown in the 800-yard free relay on Wednesday.
The Longhorns are in second place with 165 points, trailing first-place California (184) by 19 points.
