FUKUOKA, Japan – Texas Women's diver Hailey Hernandez finished sixth in the 3-meter springboard final at the World Aquatics Championships at the Fukuoka Prefectural Pool on Friday. It marked her second top-seven finish at the world meet after placing seventh on 1-meter. She was the top finisher for the United States on both 1-meter and 3-meter at the world championships.
Hernandez scored 307.15 points to place seventh, 52.35 points behind the champion, China's Chen Yiwen (359.50), while Chang Yani (341.50) of China was the runner-up and Canada's Pamela Ware (332.00) won bronze.
A native of Southlake, Texas, Hernandez moved from eighth to sixth on her final dive, scoring 63.
