AUSTIN -- Go back to just over a month ago, and the situation was nearly the same.
The Longhorns had just experienced their first rough patch of the season, dropping four games in a span of six. Three of those defeats came at home against non-Power 5 schools -- Radford, VCU and Providence. A 5-0 start to the season that had included an upset of then-No. 7 North Carolina in the Las Vegas Invitational was a thing of the past, and Texas' brief No. 17 ranking was long gone.
And then the Longhorns regrouped and won three straight, including their first two games of Big 12 play.
