Only a few more days, and the College Football Playoff committee comes out of hibernation to tell us what we've missed. Your intrepid reporter has no sources on the committee, or at least none talking, but here's a guess:
Any day now, Alabama will receive a cute "save-the-date" notice.
Ditto, Clemson.
The Big Ten has earned an automatic berth. Maybe two.
Notre Dame gets first dibs on any leftovers.
And if the Big 12 has any shot, it's Oklahoma, not Texas.
Sorry, Tom Herman. You, too, Tim Cowlishaw.
Of course, there's still a lot of football left to be played and projections aren't necessarily absolutes.
