ATLANTA – Texas freshman Townley Haas set NCAA, American and U.S. Open records in the 200-yard freestyle while sophomore Joseph Schooling took down the NCAA and U.S. Open records in the 100-yard butterfly, as the Longhorns maintained their lead Friday on day three of the 2016 NCAA Championships.
Schooling won his second consecutive NCAA crown in the 100 butterfly and the seventh such title for Texas in the event, as the Olympian from Singapore took the win in 44.01. The swim broke the NCAA, U.S. Open and NCAA Championship record of 44.
