AUSTIN, TX – Leighann Goode's freshman year as a member of The University of Texas softball program was filled with countless "firsts." And the San Antonio native added another this week by becoming the first D1Softball Freshman All-American in program history when the publication announced its All-American teams Tuesday morning.
Goode became the first Texas freshman softball student-athlete to earn All-American status — regardless of team, publication or affiliation — since Shea O'Leary was named an honorable mention All-American by Softball America following the 2019 season.
In 203 official plate appearances throughout 61 games on the season, Goode slashed .
