Georgia's Kirby Smart rejects CFP snub excuse: 'Texas outplayed us, outcompeted us'

NEW ORLEANS - As Georgia fell behind Texas 17 points early in an eventual 28-21 loss to the Longhorns in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Twitter provided the Bulldogs with an alibi.

It wasn't Texas, according to tons of tweets. The College Football Playoff snub had robbed Georgia players of their bowl mojo.

But in the postgame press conference, Georgia coach Kirby Smart wasn't buying it.

"I think that would be easy to say, but I certainly don't think that when you go to a meeting that's what you're thinking about," Smart said. "You're thinking about Texas.
