A loss by the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs to the No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide a little more than a week ago lowered the stakes for the Oct. 19 matchup against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns in Austin, but didn’t push it out of primetime with Monday’s game time and television announcement slotting the high-profile contest at 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC.
The game marks the sixth all-time matchup between the two programs with the Longhorns holding a 4-1 advantage over the Bulldogs, including the 28-21 win by Texas in the 2018 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
