AUSTIN -- Four Longhorns landed on the Associated Press All-Big 12 first team that was announced on Friday, while one was named to the second team.
Texas' representatives on the first team were senior defensive end Charles Omenihu, senior cornerback Kris Boyd, junior center Zach Shackelford and freshman safety Caden Sterns. Senior linebacker Gary Johnson was named to the second team as well.
Omenihu, who led the Big 12 in sacks this season with 9.5, was just awarded the Defensive Lineman of the Year by the conference last week. Sterns, who finished tied for second in the league in interceptions this year with four, was also named the Defensive Freshman of the Year by the Big 12.
