DOHA, Qatar – Former Texas swimmer Carson Foster advanced to the 200-meter medley final at the World Aquatics Championships for the United States after registering the fastest semifinal time on Wednesday inside the Aspire Dome.
Foster earned the top seed in the 200m IM final with a semifinals swim of 1:57.13. The Cincinnati native trailed American teammate Shane Casas at the final turn but took the lead in the final meters of the freestyle leg. Casas, who trains in Austin with coaches Eddie Reese and Wyatt Collins, took the runner-up spot in 1:57.
