AUSTIN — More than two years after an injury derailed his college career, Johnathan Gray will have to go through rehabilitation all over again.
Gray, the tailback who completed his senior season at Texas last month, tore his left Achilles tendon for the second time and underwent surgery to repair it Thursday. A statement from the Longhorns said Gray “will return to action as soon as possible.”
Billed as the top high-school running back in the country four years ago, Gray showed promise early in his UT career before tearing the Achilles at West Virginia as a sophomore in 2013.
